Girls and women alike tend to be big fans of barrettes. They are, after all, pretty great ways to ornament hair and help pull together an outfit for a certain occasion. But my question is this: Why should we buy new barrettes when most of us have old bobby pins lying around?
Buying new barrettes requires using more resources from our earth—and causing more damage if chemicals are involved. If you just use your imagination, it's not hard to make cool barrettes from the bobby pins you've got lying around and whatever other materials you can find that need a new use.
With just a glue gun (or another strong adhesive), you can attach a number of items to bobby pins in order to make customized barrettes—without buying any new materials!
Here ahttp://cm.howstuffworks.com/article-template.php?step2re some bobby pin beautification ideas to consider:
- Buttons
- Fake Flowers
- Bows
- Fabric (especially to match a certain outfit)
- Bottle Caps
- Mirrors
The possibilities are pretty endless. So the next time you're looking for a way to accessorize your hair...think about decorating those bobby pins you have lying around!
