So incredibly uncool.

When you get rejected by China over ecological concerns, you've taken un-green to new depths. This is precisely what happened to General Motors (GM). As reported by USA Today:
"GM's bid to sell its Hummer brand to a Chinese company has failed, as Beijing's regulators said the gas-guzzling trucks conflicted with the country's environmental policies."
It's practically unanimous now; no one likes Hummers. There's even an "anti-Hummer" Facebook page. So kudos to the Chinese for saying no to GM but now we need our friends in China to consider stuff like shark fin soup, the fur trade, and lying about water pollution levels.

Besides it's well-earned reputation as a gas guzzler, the simple reality is that the Hummer began as a military vehicle—and contrary to Hollywood hagiography, the military is neither cool nor earth-friendly.
3 Reasons Why Mimicking the Military is Not Green
- The US Department of Defense is the world's worst polluter
- The US military is the planet's biggest gas guzzler
- The military still refuses to replace depleted uranium with seed bombs
