Daily DIY Project: Sunglasses Case
Whether you're finishing up the summer with a trip to the lake with your favorite girlfriends or just daydreaming of next summer's beach adventures, keep your sunglasses in mint condition with this homemade case from Urban Nest. It's an ideal way to use up smaller pieces of fabric and trim while keeping your shades safe at the bottom of your beach bag.
The instructions are simple--and include a template to make the project even easier--and since you need less than 1/4 yard of each fabric, it's a great way to put some of those scraps to use. Trace the templates on the fabrics and cut them out; then place batting in between and use bias tape to hold it all together.
Urban Nest's Rachel whipped up this little cutie for a trip to the Outer Banks. The modern flowered print and pale pink lining are a sweet contrast, while the bold trim ties it all together. We especially love the brilliant smaller touches, like a hole in the top that allows a clip to keep the case attached to the handle of a bag (no more searching for your sunglasses when that cloud suddenly moves) and the petite pocket on the back---which lets you have on hand just enough for a mid-afternoon ice cream sandwich.
