TransFair USA, the only third-party certifier of fair-trade products in the United States, has joined up with Google to bring you a new way to explore fair-trade connections around the world. Navigate the globe using the new fair-trade layer in Google Earth, and pinpoint locations of fair-trade producers in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Plus, you can view profiles of fair-trade farms.
Here's how to get started:
1. Download and install the Google Earth application
2. Open Google Earth and:
-View > Sidebar
-(expand) Layers
- (expand) Global Awareness subset
- (click) Fair Trade Certified
3. This should pop-up the Fair Trade Coop icons and populate the earth, look around Latin America for the icons.
