Before you throw an old spoon away, try turning it into a pendant.
An old roommate of mine moved out last fall and took her silverware with her...all but one spoon that she must have forgotten. I bought new silverware for the house and tucked that non-matching spoon that only reminded me of a bad roommate deep into the back of our silverware drawer. And it has rested there in peace ever since. I finally decided that something had to be done with that old spoon. If you too have a spoon around the house that you're just not using, try turning it into a pendant.
1. Locate your spoon.
2. Break the head and a bit of the 'stem' of the spoon off from the handle.
You can do this by bending the spoon back and forth a few times. I'm no muscle woman and I could do it, so I'm sure you can, too.
3. Use a strong, but eco-friendly glue to adhere something round to the end of the spoon's stem.
You know those round plastic things you have to pull off of a new carton of juice or milk? Yeah? Those are perfect. But use your imagination. Anything sturdy and round will do for this.
4. String your thread or chain through the round object and enjoy!
You can personalize this pendant even more so by decorating it. Consider using resin to seal a picture in the spoon or painting an intricate pattern onto it.
