I hate throwing things away. That leaves me with a lot of scrap items just waiting to be crafted into something cool. One of the things I seem to always have a surplus of are Scrabble letters without a home. Which makes sense. Scrabble is my favorite game and the letters get lost in my house at an embarrassingly fast pace. If you've got spare Scrabble pieces around the house, follow these easy instructions to turn them into a bracelet with a cool message.

1. Find Some Fabric

First, find some spare, sturdy fabric for your base. I had some leftover leather from a shoe project I did a while back, but even fabric from a shirt will work just fine. Cut the fabric so that it fits around your wrist and leave an extra 3-4 inches from that size in the length.

2. Choose Scrabble Letters

Gather the Scrabble letters you need to spell whatever phrase you want to spell out. Make sure it's something short enough to fit on a bracelet. I chose the word, 'Love'. Cliche, I know, but I believe in it!

3. Add Scrabble Pieces

Adhere the pieces to the fabric. A secret I've learned along the way is that when regular glues don't work, nail polish often will. I tried regular glue for this project first, but the pieces wouldn't stick to the fabric. When I tried nail polish as an adhesive, it worked like a charm. Hopefully you've got some green nail polish on hand.

4. Cut through Fabric

Cut a slit in the middle of one end of the fabric after the letters are adhered.

5. Pull Through Pull the other end of the bracelet through the slit you made. 6. Adjust Bracelet on Wrist Slip the bracelet on your wrist and pull the side going through the slit tight and proceed to wrap the extra fabric around so that the bracelet is held in place. Enjoy! Having unique accessories is one of the easiest ways to bring new life to a dull outfit, but there's no reason to go out and buy new accessories when you can make better ones on your own, right?
