How to Make a Hacky Sack Out of an Orphan Sock
Hacky Sack is one those games that tends to break out in parking lots or at Phish concerts. It was real popular in the 90's. It might still be popular, but I haven't been hip since the 90's and even then, I wasn't very hip. Maybe I've just fallen in with a hacky sackless crowd. So much the better or worse for me. One thing I do remember clearly is how to make a hacky sack out of a sock.
Everyone finds themselves losing socks. I think every stand-up comedian in the 90's had a joke about what happened to socks when they disappeared. I even think they had an episode of Ren and Stimpy about a planet filed with socks. One way to make sure that your non-lost sock doesn't go the waste is by turning it into a hacky sack. Here is how:
1. Get sock.
2. Cut sock in half.
3. Get rice or pinto beans or other biodegradable, loose-fill item.
4. Fill bottom half of sock with beans or whatever.
5. Sew sock closed.
6. You now have a hacky sack.
What to do with the remainder? You can make a wrist warmer or a drink cozy out of it.
