I love Urban Outfitters. It's sort of annoying to love Urban Outfitters, though. I feel like it's so...predictable. But I can't help it. Those folks just always have clothes I like. And they're always marked up to a price I can't afford. So while perusing the Urban Outfitters website today, I noticed something I really liked: a $42 draping t-shirt type vest. I knew right away I could make it. And you can, too. Make this ultra-cool vest out of any one of those way-too-big shirts I'd bet you have lying around.

Choose a Shirt

Find a shirt you can use. Try to find something you aren't wearing much.

Remove Sleeves

Cut off the sleeves from this shirt.

Cut Half Circles

Cut half circles along the back. This will give your vest a racerback.

Cut a V Shape

Cut a giant V shape down the front of the shirt.

From the tip of the V you've cut, cut al the way down to the bottom. This will separate the shirt and turn it into a vest. You're Done! I'm a big fan of this look. If you are too, make it yourself. Why go out and spend money on something brand new? It's not good for our wallets, our planet, or the future of those shirts we already have but aren't using.
