I'm not gonna lie, I like a little cover up at the beach. I mean I'm not embarrassed or anything, but seriously you're practically naked and who wants to walk around all day like that? Enter fabulous and stylish beach cover up, i.e. a cute homemade sarong. They are a great way to put unused fabric to good use and they are extremely versatile and can be used in tons of different ways.
What you'll need:
5 inch wide by 7 inches tall piece of fabric iron sewing machine matching thread 30 inches of fringe
Method:
1. Run the fabric through the washer and dryer first to prevent any shrinkage in the finished product.
2. Press a 1-inch hem all the way around the fabric with a hot iron.
3. Pin the fabric edges.
4. Sew a 1-inch hem all the way around the fabric.
5. Pin the fringe to the edges of the hem all the way around the fabric.
6. Carefully and slowly sew around the edges, attaching the fringe to the fabric.
How to Wear a Sarong
You can tie it around your waist so that it?s a floor length skirt. You can fold it in half so it's a mini skirt. You can even wrap it around your neck and then around your body so that it looks like a halter dress.
