There are many reasons why we ride bikes, e.g. exercise, competition, transportation, or just for the fun of it. Cycling can also be a political and social statement on an increasingly car-centric planet. Opting out (or at least away from) the internal combustion engine not only constitutes a big green step but also provides the motivating power of example. Choosing 2 wheels instead of 4 is the type of decision that provokes questions, conversations, and debate--and what good is activism if it exists in a preaching-to-the-converted vacuum?
