Because all manly men like to save energy, sewing a draft dodger is a fun and practical activity. Jeff had Lassie; Rusty had Rin Tin Tin; dudes have their dogs. But even the pets of the manliest men need a comfy place to sleep, so sew them a pet bed. Rather than dishing out $50 or $60 for one, do it yourself, and smile (in a manly way) every time Mr. Fluffypants calls it a night.
Recycled Sweater Quilt
Even if you know what you're doing with the laundry, shrunken sweaters happen to the best of us. If a mishap (or two) has shortened the functional life of a favorite sweater, you don't have to retire it. Sew yourself a recycled sweater quilt, and keep those sweaters' snuggly warmth working for you, even if your wrists stick out the end.
