There are a lot of things in our day to day office lives that hardly catch our eyes. Some of these things violate some basic environmental codes that we should at least be making an effort to adhere to. I encourage you to look around your office and think deeply about what could be replaced in a more eco-friendly way or what could be reused before being thrown out.
One of these common office items that we rarely notice is the office chair mat. Most office chair mats are made from a thick plastic that can be difficult to recycle or even find reuses for (although I have faith in the imaginations of anyone green-minded).
Any time that your office is going through a redecorating phase or simply throwing out an old chair mat, I urge you to purchase eco-friendly chair mats. Most of them are made from bamboo or recycled wood and are much sensible than petroleum-based plastic mats.
