Another fine mess...

This one hits a little too close to home for me. Yes, I'm the orderly type. So, when I read what my friend Jenn recently wrote on her Tiny Choices blog, I nodded in agreement and cringed at the same time. Jenn sez:

"Now, we're not advocating slovenly behavior, but think about it: even the greenest of cleaning requires resources: water, cleaning agents, reusable rags which will need to be washed, trash bags which will need to be dumped, etc. So when things need to be cleaned, by all means, clean! But if you can let it go another day, then do. Less power will be used, less solvents will be released into the waterways, and you'll have more free time. And when staying in hotels, hang that 'do not disturb' sign on the door so the maids don't need to come in and clean your space every day. While it may feel like a treat, it's also usually an unnecessary use of resources."

I think all my fellow neatniks should repeat after me: I don't need to clean every day. I don't need to clean every day.

Step Away From the Bathtub

Most of us probably shower way too often and for way too long.

Suggestion: Take a navy shower.

One Last Note to Tidy Things Up a Bit:Shorter showers are a good choice but we need to be doing lots more.
