The governor of Colorado found the issue of climate refugees important enough to show up in person and introduce the film of that title when it screened at the Boulder International Film Festival last week.

"Climate Refugees" is about populations around the world forced to flee their homes because of rising sea levels or extreme weather events (or resource conflicts) associated with climate change.

According to Big Green Boulder, "Governor Bill Ritter and the film's director, Michael Nash, introduced the film to a full audience that included Alec Baldwin on Sunday afternoon at the Boulder International Film Festival. 'This film says that we need to stop the debate about climate change and puts a human element to the issue,' Ritter said. 'The face of climate change is the climate refugee.'"

That's a film worth seeing—and an issue worth doing something about.
