The New Year is a time for reflection, but it shouldn't be the only time. Reflection, meditation, and relaxation should be part of your everyday life. Taking time for yourself can be important for both your mental and physical health because stress is one of the leading causes of aging and health problems. To really make reflection and meditation a part of your life, you need to make room for it. That means making a sanctuary all your own
1. Green your sanctuary?add plants! Plants literally give life to a home and without them your living room is just that, a room. Choose a plant that has detoxifying qualities. We spend about 90 percent of our time indoors, so the more you can clean your air with toxin-absorbing plants, the better. Common plants like Boston Ferns, Areca Palms, Spider Plants, and English Ivy Plants absorb tons of toxins and pollutants. A minimum of two plants per 100 square feet of floor space in an average home is recommended, but basically, the more the better.
2.Burn eco-friendly candles and incense. Pure beeswax, vegetable oil-based, or soy candles are the healthiest choices for the environment. Traditional candles often use paraffin which is a petroleum product, that's not a renewable resource and causes pollution in its production. Burn eco-friendly incense like Colibri Cedar. The incense is totally chemical-free and made with all natural ingredients. The packaging that it comes in is even recycled.
3.Buy eco-lovin' and green books. Check out these three green books on three green things. Find books about green subjects printed on green paper.
