Spread the eco-word by making this green thing for your desk.

My brother had this amazing marble pen/pencil holder growing up. After years of holding onto it, he finally gave it to me. Being able to have 5-10 pens and pencils readily accessible, immediately to the right of my bed, has been convenient. And I am confident that it would be just as convenient for you, on your desk, at your work space. Not only is the following project one you can do in order to save a plastic cap from being thrown out, but it'll also help you to organize your writing utensils and thereby lose them less.

How to make a writing utensil holder from a laundry detergent cap:

1. Locate your cap. Clean it out well. Really well. Unless you want to write your next memo with laundry detergent soap bubbles.

2. Heat a screw driver. You can heat it simply by placing it in a flame for a few seconds.

3. Use the heated screw driver to melt however many holes through the lid you want.

4. Place your pens and pencils in the cap and enjoy!

This project is a great way to reduce and reuse. On top of that, I'd wager a bet that your colleagues might ask you about your cool utensil holder...in which case, teach them how to do this project, too!
