Give your kitchen a party-ready makeover with this colorful, tiled table--made from old Fiestaware--from the home experts at Casa Sugar. Taking a table that was in good condition but just too '90s for her taste, user Princessnance redid the top with bright ceramic tones for a fun new look.

The tutorial makes it sound almost too easy: the table owner and her mom chipped off all the old, white tiles, and then broke Fiestaware plates (purchased from the company's tent sale for 50% off) into randomly sized pieces and stuck them to the tabletop with tile adhesive; their only requirement was that no two pieces of the same shade end up next to each other. The result is a rainbow of different textures, sizes, and shades--and a table that's as at home under a Sunday morning brunch as it is holding a pitcher of margaritas and your famous homemade guacamole.

We love the reuse aspect of this--the renovation allows her to keep using the table without the boredom, and buying the discontinued plates gives them a second life instead of sending them to storage or a landfill. There are endless ways to put your own spin on this project, too: use square (unbroken) tiles for a more precise look; salvage tiles from other projects instead of buying plates; use your grandmother's inexpensive--but sentimental--china for an elegant look; or use the same technique on a side table, mirror, or picture frame.
