Books are great. They help us to learn, relax, and relate. And they waste paper. Sometimes, it's hard to avoid reading the kinds of books that don't normally print on recycled paper. Like textbooks, for instance. But even textbooks can be rented online these days. So what about leisure reading? How come it's still standard to buy a book at a bookstore if you want your own copy of the latest John Grisham?
Well, the publishing industry is turning a new leaf thanks to Grisham. Grisham is close to wrapping up a contract with Random House to release all of his 22 titles in e-book format. While he's not the first in the industry to publish online, his support of the e-book will prove to be important, I'm sure.
What you can do:
Support him! Get his new e-book for yourself or someone else in your life. And hey, if you aren't into Grisham, that's alright. Try to hunt down another e-book author you can support. Showing the publishing industry that e-books are cool is a great eco-friendly way we readers can make a difference.
