Let's End the Flyer-on-Car Scourge

At this very moment, some poor soul who makes minimum wage is putting a flyer on a car somewhere. Nobody likes these flyers. I've never heard anyone say, "Oh boy! A flyer!" Not only are these flyers annoying and unsafe, they also waste trees and generate a ton of litter. There must be a way to stop this.

I've heard that placing flyers on car windows is actually illegal, but I've been unable to find any documentation to back that up. Most of the legal routes, if they actually exist, would probably only punish the car-flyer distributor who has a bad enough lot in life already. We should be really going after the businesses who are printing up these wasteful flyers.

If you find a flyer under your windshield wiper, don't throw it away. Take it home. Find an email address for the company that is advertising through flyers and write them. Tell them that you are not going to use their business for five years. Get your friends to boycott them.

If you see a car-flyer distribution engineer at work in a parking lot, notify the owner of the parking lot. The parking-lot owner can make the car-flyer purveyor leave and take legal action if they don't.

We don't have to stand for companies putting trash on our cars. As maddening as this might be, you should always recycle these fliers and never litter.
