1. KEM recommends that its cards are stored at 62-72 degrees F. They also suggest returning the cards to the box when you are finished, making sure to put the joker on top and place a thin piece of cardboard on top of that joker to prevent your cards from warping.
2. You can remove stains from plastic playing cards by lightly dabbing a washcloth into a bit of vinegar and eco-friendly dish soap. Rub the vinegary area of the cloth against the stain or scuff. Make sure not to soak the card.
3. Copag Playing Cards suggests that you don't put their cards in a washing machine. That may seem like an obvious tip, but Copag prides its cards on their durability. People might actually think they are strong enough to wash in a machine. Tips that extend to all playing cards include keeping the cards away from direct heat and sunlight, don't stack damp cards after cleaning them and don't put recently cleaned, still-moist cards back into the box.
4. Shuffling can be hard on the cards. A mathematical proof shows that cards only need to be shuffled seven times for maximum randomization. If you only shuffle seven times per hand, the cards will be sufficiently randomized. That means less wear and tear on your cards.
