It's the holidays. Do you prepare for everything, even the unexpected house guest? They say the best gifts are unexpected. Right? They (whoever "they" are) also say, house guests are like fish, they both begin to smell after a while.
I love house guests, even the unexpected kind. So, there is no odor associated with these visits. They do sometimes turn my house upside down, and I have to remember to set boundaries. The first question I ask is, "How long do you plan on visiting?" Then we're good to go.
The holidays are synonymous with visitors. Making some extra efforts to have gifts for unexpected house guests during the holiday is particularly tricky if those guests are not environmentally savvy. Your green lifestyle may come into precarious conflict with your visitor.
This is where those boundaries come in. State your ecological mind. If you don't eat meat, be upfront with what the meal arrangements will be. If you don't want the guest to take extra hot long showers. Tell them why. Maybe encourage them to take a bath if you recycle your bath water. Let the gifts below guide the way.
