While many of us have adopted eco-friendly lifestyles, not all of us get to have 'green' jobs. However, the demand for green action is growing each and every day and more green jobs are being made available all of the time. With green employment on the rise, the amount of young adults seeking green internships is also on the rise..but I have come across many young people having a hard time actually securing internships.
My challenge to you: If you have an eco job, do yourself and some young person out there a favor by making room for an intern. In many respects, it's the green thing to do. It's a perfect way to get more done without expending more resources. Having someone alongside you at work to help out, if your employer will allow for it, can be a very positive thing. If you find the right intern, you'll be able to increase your productivity, spread your cause, and pave the way for a new green employee in our job market.
Sound like a good idea? Talk to your boss about it. Even if you just have an intern come in for a few hours a week, the experience could take you both further than you might imagine.
