Get Green Music Funds Eco-Sports and Entertainment

Get Green Music wants to help change the color of your iPod.

The online publication is launching a new and improved website that lets you download music, with proceeds going to green causes.

In this case, Get Green Music has partnered with the Action Sports Environmental Coalition and the Environmental Media Association.

When you download tracks from the site, 10 percent of the proceeds go to the charities.

ASEC is dedicated to making the action sports industry more sustainable and includes athletes like skateboarders Bob Burquist and Jen O'Brien.

EMA works with members of the entertainment industry to greenlight eco-friendly scripts, make award shows more sustainable, and encourage stars to promote green living, according to GGM.

The site's motto is "Saving The Planet 1 Download @ a Time." It features about 6 million tracks from artists including Taylor Swift, Kings of Leon and Katy "I kissed a girl" Perry, with links to 99-cent digital tracks.

"We think sustainability is fun and sexy; simply put, we throw a better party", says Kiwi Gullixson, self-described ninja for the ASEC.

Get Green Music is throwing one of those parties on Sept. 12 at the Ocean Club in Jacksonville, Florida, to celebrate its revamped site.

Celebrity guests are due to include skateboarder Jake Brown and snowboarder/musician Renee Renee.

Also performing is Big Creep, Splift Out, Dj Infader and DANKA, according to organizers.
