Okay, so the stimulus has a crap-ton of green projects in it. You know that, you get it. There's solar and wind projects, waste management, there are going to be green jobs, blah, blah, blah. All of these are undoubtedly great things, but you've probably read the phrase "green jobs" more than Steven Seagal has kicked ass. And that's a lot. Plus, aren't we on to torture memos and swine flu now? What else could there possibly be to say about Obama's green stimulus bill?
There's one last thing worth checking out in regards to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (gotta love that grandeur), and that's the EPA's oft-updated stimulus website. It shows exactly where every dollar allotted to the EPA from the ARRA is going, and what cause it's going to. EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson said that she wanted unprecedented transparency in her agency, well, and here you go.
It's an interesting way to see how each state is getting a little greener, thanks to the bill: by checking in on the site, I know that Vermont is getting $1.7 to clean up diesel pollution, that California is getting $10 million to remove toxic pollutants from Iron Mountain Mine, that $41 million is going to Washington state for water infrastructure projects and so on. You can also see the general breakdown between the different categories, too
So if you're not all stimulus-ed out yet, check out the EPA Recovery and find out what they're up to. And if you don't like what you see, go leave a comment on their government blog
