We all love houseplants. First of all, they look attractive, all leafy and green. Secondly, houseplants help us out by cleaning the air in our homes. In exchange, we try and help the plants live comfortably by taking really good care of them. (If you're like me, you probably have enough trouble keeping yourself alive, let alone a houseplant or two. I'm getting better with the plants.)
Houseplants are literally and figuratively a green addition to any home. And if you are going or have gone green yourself, then you'll probably be interested in conserving water. As the population grows, the water supply drops, so it's a good idea to save water where we can.
Here's an easy, little tip for saving water and helping your houseplants. If you are raising hanging plants, then stop watering them with a watering can. The water rushes right through the soil, and the plant only drinks a fraction of the water. Instead, put a few ice cubes in the hanging houseplant. The water will slowly drip into the soil where it will be thoroughly enjoyed by the plant.
Follow this advice and you'll save a bit of water and keep your hanging plants healthy.
