January is often a month when your time suddenly begins to free up and you're left either down in the dumps or bored. Instead of sitting in front of the boob tube frying your brain, why not take some green initiative? Here are my top four things that you can do at home to make a huge green difference this month.
1.Start composting
The idea can seem overwhelming but once you get started it's really not that difficult. Check out Josh Peterson's guide to composting in your apartment.
2.Start cooking
With some extra time on your hands planning green meals just got tons easier. Cooking means that you can control your ingredients, using only the cleanest, greenest ingredients available. You can also control waste from take out containers and energy wasting restaurants. Here are some great recipes to set you out on your green cooking path.
