If you're greening your home like the people are on Greenovate and you have young children (or one on the way), creating an organic nursery can be done without too much trouble. Here are some tips if you're in the market to make your nursery as eco friendly as possible:

- USE THE INTERNET TO SHOP. There are lots of sites online that offer organic and eco friendly nursery products that your local stores may not offer. Baby cribs, blankets, mattresses, and more all have green alternatives.

- DON'T USE CARPET. Carpet traps mold, dust mites, etc. Also, carpets get ruined easily and then they add to the strain of our landfills.

- AVOID STAIN RESISTANT TREATED ITEMS. Many items these days come with stain resistant treatments already on them-avoid these. Research has started to suggest that these treatments may cause cancer.

- BE SMART ABOUT DIAPERS. Use cloth or chlorine free diapers in order to reduce the dioxin pollution caused by regular diapers.

- DON'T PLAY WITH TOXINS. Seek out toxin free toys for your baby!

You don't have to be a super star to afford making changes like these for your baby's nursery. In fact, all that you have to do is devote a little bit of time and effort toward this project and before you know it, you'll be starting your baby?s life off the right way.
