Save $30 a Bulb with CFLs

You may have heard that using compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) will save you energy (and help out the planet), but did you know that each bulb will put $30 or more back in your pocket? It's true; CFLs consume less energy-about 75 percent less than traditional incandescents-so they cost you less over their extended lifetime, which is about 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs.

Though they tend to cost a bit more at the time of purchase than incandescents, the combination of less energy over a longer life will more than make up for it. Imagine how much you could save if you changed every bulb in your whole house.
