When you get along with your coworkers you work more productively. When you work more productively you work more efficiently, saving your own mental time/energy but also the energy required to run your office day-to-day. Ergo, when you work more productively, you work greener, and working greener is working better.
Unfortunately, the fact of the matter is that most people can think of at least one person in their office to complain about. Personalities can clash; especially when you're seeing someone for forty hours a week or more. While some of us push these feelings aside and give them permission to brew and boil over at times, I urge you to work on your relationship with coworkers.
No matter what kind of job you have or what kind of atmosphere you work in, getting along with your colleagues is an important green thing to learn how to do. Productivity simply isn't the same when you're harboring negative feelings toward someone else.
Here's How to Work Well with Coworkers:
do what you can to smooth over any rough spots you may have with your colleagues. Play soothing music at your desk. Make a point to compliment the person you're having a hard time with. Do what you can to lend a helping hand to your colleagues. This could be as simple as bringing in coffee for your colleagues or taking one of their calls when they're swamped with work. Try to think about the kinds of things your colleagues could do for you to alter your mood. Make your workplace experience more positive and I guarantee you that you'll get more done each day and since wasted time isn't very green, why not give it a shot?
