Prevent Laptop Overheating with Bottle Caps and an Old Pillow
I have all sorts of problems with my laptop, but overheating is a big one. From what I've read online, overheating is a common problem with laptops; especially my model of MacBook. When your computer overheats, it not only can force the computer to shut down improperly, but it can damage the computer. If you can prevent your computer from overheating in the first place, you can help it to last longer. Getting a long life out of your computer is green. You can use items you probably already have around the house to prevent your computer from overheating.
How to use bottle caps and a pillow to prevent your laptop from overheating:
Find bottle caps for your project.
Locate four bottle caps.
Glue something sturdy to pillow.
Glue something sturdy onto a pillow. I had an old pillow with a music-related pillow case, so I decided to keep the theme going strong by adhering an old vinyl record to the pillow. Anything sturdy, however, will do and that includes a spare piece of wood.
Add bottle caps and finish.
Glue your bottle caps down to the sturdy item. Space them evenly apart. Your laptop will sit on these caps. Be sure to use eco-friendly glue in this project.
Enjoy! The four bottle caps raise your computer up just enough to let it 'breathe' and not overheat. I know this because a computer genius friend of mine told me. I've been using this set up for a few days now and it works like magic! This project will help you extend the life of your computer and reuse a pillow and bottle caps while you're at it.
