Quilted Welcoming Banner Pattern
Perfect for any entryway or a front window, the Quilted Welcoming Banner will make all your guests feel at home. The banner features two of our quilt blocks, Home Sweet Home and Windblown Puzzle, in a prettily balanced pattern. To make the banner, download the two-page Quilted Welcoming Banner pattern (which includes the pattern for the banner and for the Home Sweet Home quilt block) and the one-page Windblown Puzzle quilt block pattern as PDFs and print them out. Then enlarge the patterns at 125%.
To make the Quilted Welcoming Banner:
Make 2 Windblown Puzzle blocks and 1 Home Sweet Home block. Stitch blocks together as shown. Add inner and outer borders. Add loops for hanging. Finished size is about 35 x 17 inches.
To make the Home Sweet Home quilt block:
Background: Cut 1. Hearts: Fuse double-sided webbing to fabric, and cut 2. Letters: Fuse double-sided webbing to fabric, and cut 1 each. Strips: Fuse double-sided webbing to fabric, and cut 4. (Do not add seam allowances to fused pieces.)
Fuse vertical strips 1 inch in from each side. Fuse horizontal strips 1 inch in from top and bottom edges. Fuse letters and hearts in middle of square. By hand or machine, appliqué all fused pieces using narrow blanket stitch.
