Recycle Your iPod Packaging into Speakers

Taking advantage of Apple's customer loyalty, which goes beyond simple brand to include saving the packaging, here's a cool way to make some portable speakers for your portable digital media player. Macenstein shows us that the (well-designed, cool-looking) packaging for your iPod Nano (1GB and 2GB) and iPod Shuffle (2GB and 3GB) make perfect speaker boxes for those who want tunes on the go.

The plastic box combines with AudioCubes' small speakers to create a slick little speaker setup that doesn't require any external power source. And if you've already tossed the original packaging, don't fret; any similar-size package-Macenstein recommends a water bottle!-can be used. If you can't avoid packaging altogether, recycling it into something useful is sure a step in the green direction. ::Macenstein
