Few of us can match Colin Beavan, also known as No Impact Man, when it comes to reducing our output of trash; he spent a year working on it and come up with 42 different steps that he has taken. Perhaps he cheats a bit on his list; somehow calling "No Indian food in throwaway takeout tubs." , no Chinese food and no Italian food 3 different ways is a bit ingenuous. Many of them will be known to Planet Green regulars, others are a bit extreme, but there are lots of choices here that will help reduce that pile of garbage that we all generate. The first four:
1. No soda in cans (which means we're probably less likely to get cancer from aspartame).
2. No water in plastic bottles (which means we get to keep our endocrines undisrupted).
3. No coffee in disposable cups (which means we don't suffer from the morning sluggishness that comes from overnight caffeine withdrawal).
4. No throwaway plastic razors and blade cartridges (I'm staging the straightedge razor comeback).
