So many people are working at home these days, and spending a lot of time in front of a computer, which can lead to tired eyes and can often lead to vision problems. One good idea is to follow the 20 20 20 rule: every twenty minutes, look at something at least twenty feet away for at least twenty seconds.

The Alberta Association of Optometrists have some good suggestions about how to set up your office on their website, and they also provide an explanation of why you should follow this:

"When people are doing near vision tasks, such as looking at a monitor, they tend to blink less often. This can result in decreased tear production which leads to dryness of the cornea. A dry cornea will result in blurred vision and irritation of the eyes."

On some computers you can set this to remind you automatically; in Ubuntu Linux it is an easy setting, and on Windows there are a couple of programs you can add.
