Other than dressing up as the grim reaper on Halloween why would you want a scythe?
A scythe is an ancient tool for cutting hay, mowing grass, or clearing brush. Think of it as a manual weed-whacker. For hundreds of years it was indispensable on the farm and once you try it you may understand why. Added bonus? No impact to the environment to use it.
A well made scythe sweeps almost effortlessly through your hayfield or overgrown pasture, clearing and mowing exactly where you want it to. It can keep the tall grass down in the orchard without fear of harming the trees, and it can take down those irritating little saplings that persist in taking over your fence line. It can even help you clear an area for your garden.
