Take four pairs of pants, nine buttons, and some stuff, and what do you have? The Octopus chair, of course, dreamed up by the Belgian designers at Atelier Blink. The strangely comfortable (or is that comfortably strange?) looking chair/lounge combination is quite simple in both materials and design, leaving lots of room for customization and interpretation; this makes it a great candidate for crafting one of your own.

Grab four pairs of similar-size old pants, a handful of big buttons and a bunch of stuff-regular bean bag or cushion stuffing would work, but you could go all recycled with scraps of old T-shirts or towels-and you're on your way. It'll require some above-average stitching, but if you're handy with a sewing machine, a fun new chair could be a trip to your clothes and linen closet away. In this configuration, the chair takes two forms (the octopus-looking one on the left, and the baseball-looking one on the right) but ways you could customize this chair are limited only to your imagination. Happy stitching! ::Atelier Blink
