Though the weather was warm in Washington, DC, this past weekend, something was different. There was a chill in the morning and evenings were cut short by unexpected sunsets. It was clear that summer was tapering to its end; that the autumn was just around the corner. Maybe the summer temps have not eased back in your town, or maybe the first frost has already set in, but the fact remains: Summer ends today and tomorrow, the autumn begins.
Saying goodbye to summer is sad, but the coming of autumn, a time of harvest, is something to celebrate.
