Guitars get smudgy. Period. If your guitar doesn't get smudgy, that's because you don't use it. The question for the green guitarist isn't on how to avoid smudges but it is how to shine a smudged guitar the green way. Go into any music store and the accessories sales representative will have you believe that you need to buy a specially-made guitar cleaning spray or oil to get a brand-new shine. That accessories representative who tells you that is either a liar or misinformed. All you need to shine your guitar is some olive oil! (If you don't already have some olive oil around the house, get on it! Olive oil has tons of green uses).

If you want to shine your guitar into a sparkling show-off heaven, follow these super simple steps:

Get Your Guitar

Pick up your smudge-ridden guitar. Then place it on a flat surface on which you can operate.

Spread Olive Oil on Cloth

Spread your olive oil on a cloth. You'll only need about a teaspoon of it.

Rub Cloth on Guitar

Rub (in a circular motion) the oil all over the body of the guitar. You can use it on the fretboard and headstock, too.

Relish in that 'Holy Cow, my guitar is so fabulously beautiful' feeling you haven't had since the day you bought your guitar. And do so with pride because shining your guitar with olive oil is the green way to shine your guitar.
