Green Demolitions Recycles Your Junk, Helps You Find New, Energy-Efficient Appliances
The Grandma Knows Best episode of Wa$ted! featured a washer, dryer and dishwasher from a company called Green Demolitions. The company seems somewhat ill-named because they are more constructive than they are destructive. But I'm not here to mull over semantics. I'm here to tell you that you can donate your old housewares or purchase new ones through Green Demolitions.
Green Demolitions is a charitable organization. The profits that come from the sale of donated goods goes to support Recovery Unlimited, a program that helps recovering addicts get back on their feet.
When you donate your old appliances to Green Demolitions, you are putting used household appliances and accessories, that may otherwise end up in a dumpster, to good use. Furthermore, when the item is sold, the money goes to help some people who can really use it. On top of all that, your donations are tax deductible. There is no possible way to lose with this combination.
If you are looking to buy high-quality household appliances at a discount prices, look no further than Green Demolitions. They ship anywhere in the United States. (You may want to buy carbon offsets if you live far away.) You may even be able to find slightly used Energy Star appliances.
Buying second-hand is a great way to lower your carbon footprint. It takes considerably more energy to manufacture a new item than it does to repair an old one.
