Want to plant indoors but don't have enough space? Or—think you don't have enough space? You probably do, if you can grow vegetation from the ceiling instead of the floor. Which is exactly what a string garden is able to do.

Fedor van der Valk, a clever guy from the Netherlands, has worked out a way to grow a surprising range of plants, from (small) trees to flowers to tomatoes—in clumps of dirt you can even grow grass in too, if you like.

If you're interested in buying one—or trying it on your own—he's even provided watering instructions.

Here's a look at two of the plants that seem to like hanging from strings, but other photos are available on his site.
