It's not just about the three R's anymore. Welcome to the 4 modern R's of environmental education: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Recover. Discovery Education and Waste Management have teamed up to create a site, Think Green Classroom, to help teachers educate their students about the environment, waste, and how to reduce or reuse the things we would normally throw away. From puzzles and interactive activities to printable brochures and lesson plans, teachers can find a variety of materials acceptable for any grade level.
Some of the topics covered on the Think Green site are: the 4 R's, composting, recycling, and renewable energy. The site also features videos, games, and downloadable brochures for classroom use.
