The dual-flush toilet has become a big hit in Wa$ted, and for good reason. It is easy to use and doesn?t endanger the gag reflexes of those who disagree that yellow is mellow. The concept of a dual flush system is simple?if the toilet water is yellow, push the ?half a flush? button. If it is brown, push the ?full flush? button, leaving the toilet clean and shiny.

If you are not as squeamish about the color of your toilet water, gray might be the right color for you.

A Gray Water system gives a second life to your water usage before you send it down the drain. Systems range from the very simple to very complex.

My first experience using gray water was with a very simple system that you can try right now. All you need is a 5 gallon bucket next to your toilet. You can empty your used dish water and bath water into the bucket and then when your toilet needs flushing, simply pour that water into your toilet bowl to flush down the evidence.

Despite our varying thresholds, we can all agree that water fit to drink does not need to be flushed down the toilet, so get with the gray water today!
