Don't keep your own recipes in your head! File them away with this project.
There's a certain charm to a cookbook say some. Others say there is a certain charm to browsing for recipes online. But regardless of which side of the recipe fence you stand on, most people agree that personal and family recipes are...well...sacred. And they should be written down and kept together, if you ask me. I recently made a cute little recipe filer out of so-called trash from my home and you can make one very similar to this, and very easily.
How to make a recipe filer from trash:
Locate a Box Locate a box of some sort. Olay has makeup remover pads that come in a cute plastic container that I decided to use for this project.
Gather Some Cardboard Gather your cardboard. I wound up needing more cardboard than just the box shown. The amount of cardboard you need will depend on the size of the box you choose.
Cut Box-Sized Pieces Cut out a piece of cardboard to a size that will fit nicely into your box. Once you find the right size, trace the piece onto the rest of your cardboard so that you wind up with 26 pieces of cardboard.
Alphabetize Use a marker to letter each piece of cardboard alphabetically.
Finish and Enjoy! Place the cardboard in the box and start inserting your recipes behind their designated letters. Enjoy! This little box has inspired me to start writing down my own recipes more often so that, if nothing else, they're written down somewhere. Additionally, this project is a great way to make use of some of the trash you have lying around.
