Weekend Project: Make An Eco-Friendly Game Table
Having an area in your home where everyone can retreat for recreation can certainly be important. After all, the home should be a place of relaxation where the pressures and stresses of the work and school day have no standing ground. Growing up, my family always had a 'game table'. This was where we gathered after dinner some nights to bond over whatever game we chose. If you're looking to bring a game table into your home, here are some tips on how to make it green.
1. Make it From a Used Table
If you can find a used table of some sort, that's a great start for your green game table project.
2. Decorate with Used/Old Felt and Paint
You can get that perfect 'game table' look with old felt and left over paint. If you don't have these items, don't worry! There are other ways to give your game table a unique look. You can collage it with magazine cut outs, thicken it with cardboard, or glue down old fabric to the top.
3. Add a 2nd-Hand Drawer
Game tables typically have drawers of some sort that pull out and reveal all of the game supplies. You can nail a drawer to the bottom of your game table that was once in a dresser. If you don't have an old dresser, try checking your local thrift store.
Enjoy!
