Eating vegetables is one way to combat the winter doldrums (ya know, they're fresh, colorful, energizing...), but splashing them on your face can be even more fun. All you need is a cucumber, a few green lettuce leaves, a lemon, a tomato, and a blender, and you?re set to create a little dose of verdant refreshment for your face.
The ingredients (below) can be put through a juicer or pureed in a blender, and the strained and pressed to extract the juice. Vegetable juices mainly consist of water, but the water is quite different from tap water
Cucumber is an emollient and a tonic, and is often used in cosmetics to lighten the color of the skin. Tomato contains vitamin A, C, and riboflavin, all of which make skin happy, healthy, and bright.
You can use the leftover cucumber for a face mask, and the leftover tomato for a cleanser.
