Your hair care routine should evolve with the seasons. Yes, winter's wrath can wreak havoc on your lashes and brows, making them brittle and prone to breakage. Translation: short, sparse lashes... not pretty.

Just because it's crisp outside doesn't mean you have to have brittle, short eyelashes and sparse eyebrows. Try these vitamin-rich, hair follicle-stimulating homemade recipes sure to condition and strengthen your locks... on your eyes:

One-Ingredient Eyelash/Eyebrow Repairing Treatment

Dip a clean mascara brush in pure almond oil. As if applying mascara, swish the oil onto your lashes, making sure to fully saturate them. Go to sleep. Almond oil is a known nutrient, shown to repair dry hair, enhancing elasticity, and returning it to its healthy, supple state.

Sage Lash Conditioner

Ingredients

1 cup filtered water

1 tsp. extra-virgin olive oil (to nourish and minimize breakage)

2 cups fresh sage leaves or 1 cup dried sage (said to encourage hair thickening and growth)

Treatment

Bring 1 cup of filtered water to a boil

Add 1 cup dried sage (or 2 cups fresh sage leaves)

Cover and simmer for 10 minutes

Remove from heat, cool and strain the water into a clean glass container

Add 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil

Dip a clean mascara brush into the mix and brush your lashes

Save the rest at room temp. for daily use. Toss after two weeks
