Spare fabric comes from all sorts of things. It comes from sewing leftovers, old t-shirts, stained sheets, dusty curtains, and just about everything fabric-ish in between. If you don't think that you have spare fabric, think again! Most people have spare fabric in some form. If you find that you do, in fact, have spare fabric, why not make this cool perfect-for-summer headband from your fabric? It's easy and green.

How to make a braided headband from spare fabric

1. Cut your fabric into three strands.

2. Braid your fabric by tying a knot at one end and braiding from there. I decided to jazz mine up a bit by braiding in a piece of shiny teal fabric I had.

3. Wrap your headband around your head and tie a final knot in the back. Enjoy!

This project is a great way to make use of otherwise useless fabric and accessorize the green way.
