Let's get some things straight. Hair dryers are not the source of global warming. They aren't the key to beat back climate change. This post is not a chastisement against those who use and enjoy hair dryers. It is simply an article about the benefits of not using a hair dryer to make your hair less wet. Of course, the added benefit is that less electricity will be used.
There are two main reasons to shun or, at least, moderate your hair dryer use. The first reason is that over blow dying your hare can damage your locks. It is recommended that you blow dry your hair a little right away and let it dry naturally or let it dry naturally most of the way and then finish the job with the dryer. To avoid any damage to the hair, you could just let your hair dry naturally, forget the hair dryer and save some electricity.
There are creams and salves and shampoos that can repair your over blow-dried hair. My guess is that the majority of these remedies aren't organic and will do some damage when they go down the drain.
My question is: Why bother with the hair dryer and the special shampoo that treats the overblown hair? You are not helping yourself in the long run, beauty-wise or environmentally. If you are hair dryer reliant, make sure to use the dryer properly. It will benefit your hair and the environment. Or, you know, you could just let your hair dry naturally.
