Many of us who are actively concerned with the environment are also literally concerned with our immediate environments. Many of us care about getting the dirt out of our homes, but what about our skin? We spend lots of money, collectively, on products that will make our skin "better."
Exfoliating products are one of my favorite skin products because exactly how they go about making your skin better is pretty obvious: they remove the dirt and grime from your pores. But, like most other beauty products, great exfoliating can be made from home with things you probably have around the house. So why not make them yourself? Not only will you save money, but you'll also know precisely what is in the paste you're putting on your face and you'll be reducing the amount of plastics and chemicals manufactured, too!
Here's a simple recipe for an exfoliating wash that you can make from home:
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of olive oil
1/2 cup of chopped strawberries
1 tsp of vanilla
1 shot of rum
This exfoliating wash will do wonders for your skin...and the planet!
