Soft, silky skin is definitely in no matter what season it is, but summer is that glorious time of year when we bare a little more of our bods -- a perfect time to baby ourselves with a refreshing all-natural body scrub. Here are four easy, fun body scrub recipes you can make with items you probably already have in your kitchen -- and one bonus recipe for an "end of summer" scrub (though we don't want to think about summer ending quite yet!)
Homemade Body Scrub Recipes
Salt Scrub This recipe, via Free Beauty Tips, uses coarse salt, sesame oil, cocoa, vanilla, and honey, along with a few other ingredients. As shown, the recipe really makes a ton of body scrub -- it could easily be cut in half for a more manageable amount.
Coffee Body Scrub
Coffee has been rumored to reduce cellulite and help with varicose veins. Whether those claims are true or not, this scrub will definitely make your skin silky smooth, and I bet you have all of the ingredients in your kitchen cabinets right now: coffee grounds, sugar or salt, and oil. You can also add brown sugar or vanilla for a sweeter fragrance. Yum.
Vegan Body Scrub

Lemon-Brown Sugar Body Scrub
This recipe from Organic Authority utilizes brown sugar, grapeseed oil, and lemon peel to both soften your skin and invigorate your senses. A very simple recipe -- and very effective, too.
End-of-Summer Body Scrub
After all of that exposure to the elements during the summer, your skin could probably use a little soothing. This recipe from Care2 is wonderful for smoothing rough skin, moisturizing dry skin, and leaving your skin smelling wonderful. The ingredients are simple: ground nuts or seeds, oatmeal, a liquid of your choice (such as yogurt or aloe vera gel), and fragrant herbs.
Not only are these recipes great for pampering yourself, but packaged in a pretty glass jar, they'd make a perfect gift as well.
